Bottomless Pit – Hammer Of The Gods

These guys are touring with the Kadane Brothers so I figured I’d give them a listen before I go see them. The group is mostly members of Silkworm who I really don’t know much about, but i may check out their stuff because this was decent. “Dogtag” is a simple track but I’ve grown to like it most. If you’re looking for something mellow try them out.

Film School – Hideout

I wouldn’t say this album is great, but these are 3 songs worth hearing. These guys keep getting called poseurs and jerkoffs for making music that slightly resembles something good that came out of the 90s, and thats horse shit. So what if “Dear Me” sounds like something Sonic Youth may have created, it’s a good song. “Compare” is my favorite from this release and one of the better songs i’ve heard in a while.

Thingy – To The Innocent

Type: Alt Rock

10. Ketchup Sandwich

This is not Rob Crow at his best. Anyone who says his work as Thingy is better than Pinback is just wrong. “Ketchup Sandwich” is the closest this album gets to a real song. Almost not even worth listening to.

Circa Survive – Juturna

I love these guys. All of these songs listed are amazing. I don’t know about the second half of this album. I’m sure it will grow on me eventually. Circa is also amazing live (giant balloons, bubbles, fog machines, strobe lights, projectors, and confetti) and their singer is always on coke, which is bonus points.

Robert Pollard – Kid Marine

Typical Pollard release. 22 tracks and 5 that I really like. Bob is the man, and i can tolerate having to sift through some of his garbage to find the good stuff.

Interpol – Our Love To Admire

The tracks listed are very good, but don’t hope for too much from the others. It seemed like the other tracks had no direction and just sounded like noise to me, it was weird. All Fired Up is an awesome song. Good enough for a poke.
